Joshua's Big Surgery! (on Nov 29th)

So the big day came for Joshua's cleft palate surgery, which also included a little touch-up surgery on his lip and tubes in his ears. We went up on Tuesday, the 27th and stayed in the Kiwanis House, which was awesome! The pre-op appointment was Tuesday afternoon and then we just hung out on Wed. and had lunch with some friends. On Thursday morning early, (7:30) we went to the hospital and checked in, then waited until about 10:30. They took him at 10:30 and he was out about 1:30 PM. He only spent that one night in the hospital. The longest night of Marianne's life since she could do nothing but hold him through his discomfort and pain. Thank the Lord for amazing nurses who really stayed on top of his pain meds all night!!

Post-op with his restraints, which they call "no-nos". He was none to thrilled when he woke up for the first time with those babies on his arms!!! I tell you what, he can holler if he needs to!

At home on Saturday, when all he really wanted to do was lay on the big comfy bed and watch his Praise Babies DVDs (thanks Judy and John!!)
It was so cool because he really could hear so much better with the tubes in his ears. He enjoys the DVDs so much more now than before!!

So glad this part of the "journey" is over for all of you. We pray that healing will come swiftly and completely. Looks like Joshua has been a real "trooper" through it all. You're very BLESSED!
